Vikram Sharma is a technology executive with extensive experience driving digital transformation and growth in both small and large businesses as an operator and in private equity. Vikram was previously President of Crisp (Baird Capital portfolio company), an early-warning risk intelligence service for weaponized social media, trusted by global brands to protect over $4.1 trillion of market capitalization. He also serves as a board member at portfolio companies and as a senior advisor to Baird Capital in making venture capital and private equity investments in strategically targeted sectors around the world. Most recently, as President/CEO, he led the creation and launch of a locally-focused digital agency, G/O Digital, as part of the transformation of Gannett (NYSE:GCI) into a media and marketing services company. The build-partner-acquire approach scaled quickly and in 2015 split into two businesses that now separately serve local and national customers. He previously served as CEO of ShopLocal, where he spent six years creating industry-leading digital solutions for more than one hundred of the nation's top retailers, including Best Buy, CVS, Home Depot, Kohl’s, Lowe’s, Macy’s, Target, Walgreens and Walmart. Vikram started his career at Information Resources Inc. (NASD: IRIC), an innovative leader in retail analytics, where he served as division president and led the development of the company’s revolutionary scanner-based InfoScan service, which drove the company’s growth from industry upstart to a $1B+ global industry leader. He was then recruited to Grant Thornton to lead a technology modernization program that transformed 44 locally managed offices into a national firm. The infrastructure and applications deployed enabled a mobile workforce to evolve from a geo-centric model to a more efficient and effective virtual services organization. Vikram is a frequent speaker at industry events and has also been featured in CBS News, The New York Times, USA Today and several local publications.
Vikram holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA and master’s in computer science from the University of Illinois.
