Momentum in the Industrial Safety Market
Extensive sector expertise positions team to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Key Takeaways
Increasing Regulatory Requirements
Safety and compliance requirements continue to drive demand across industries.
Re-shoring Trends
The return of manufacturing activity is creating new safety and operational needs.
Aging Infrastructure and Re-industrialization
Modernization efforts require solutions that help protect workers and maintain reliability.
Industrial safety occupies an exciting submarket of the industrial economy where demand is non-discretionary, and the cost of failure heavily outweighs the cost of safety solutions. Regulations mandate it, insurers price it and the cost of failure, including injury, downtime or catastrophic loss far exceeds the cost of the products and services that help prevent it. The combination of compliance-driven demand and a highly favorable cost-of-solution to cost-of-failure ratio makes the sector and an attractive submarket to invest into today.
Baird Capital has deep experience across the industrial safety landscape and our conviction has strengthened as the market has evolved. The broader industrial safety market continues to grow with increasing compliance demands combined with structural tailwinds such as re-shoring, aging infrastructure, re-industrialization and rapidly expanding industries. Data centers, semiconductor and sustainable power generation are also creating new safety and regulatory challenges. We have seen these durable demand drivers support several of our investments :
- autoLOTO — a cloud-based software and services platform that automates and manages Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to protect workers from hazardous electrical and mechanical energy. autoLOTO replaces paper-based logs with a real-time mobile app and digital-twin technology that validates each energy-isolation step against NFPA 70E/70B, NEC and IEEE standards, making safety execution clear, enforceable and auditable.
- Cleanwater1 — a provider of water quality management solutions to municipal and industrial water and wastewater markets. Cleanwater1 safeguards the safety and quality of the critical drinking-water and wastewater supply — an area underpinned by durable tailwinds including water scarcity, tightening quality regulation and aging infrastructure.
- Justrite — a manufacturer of storage, handling and security products for hazardous materials, including flammables storage and containment, spill protection, safety showers and eyewashes, and facility identification and labeling. Justrite’s regulation-driven portfolio helps industrial customers meet compliance standards and reduce the risk of catastrophic events.
With our experience, we see tremendous opportunity to invest in industrial safety through Baird Capital Global Fund III, which closed at its $450 million hard cap in April 2026 and is more than 30% larger than its predecessor fund. The fund targets growth and buyout equity investments of $25 to $75 million in founder-led B2B technology and services companies with $10 to $100 million of revenue.
With flexible capital, a partnership approach with founder-led teams and a robust operational toolkit in support, we are well positioned to help the next generation of safety leaders scale. In doing so, we seek to generate attractive, durable returns for our investors while making high-risk environments safer and more productive.
