Charles Matthews, OBE, Operating Advisor

Charles Matthews’ career in manufacturing, engineering and technology businesses led to CEO/general management roles, followed by a move into the non-executive world including both private equity and listed businesses. He has extensive experience internationally including M&A, integration of acquisitions, project management, risk management, innovation, new product development, strategy development, investor relations and working with management teams to deliver successful exit planning/execution.

He is currently chair of Baird Capital portfolio businesses ecube and STR. His previous non-executive roles include Porvair plc and FKI plc. Earlier executive roles included serving as CEO of Cosworth Group, as MD of Rolls Royce and Bentley Motor cars, and an early career with Jaguar, Chrysler and Nabisco. Charles is a graduate of Swansea University and holds an MBA from Cranfield University.
